The Regency Chess Company Reviews:
A luxurious chess set featuring detailed Highgrove ebony and boxwood pieces, a stunning Italian briarwood chessboard, a wenge storage box, and a classic wind-up chess clock.
The Highgrove series ebony and boxwood Staunton chess pieces are superbly detailed and finished small chessmen. Following the classic Staunton, this set has beautifully carved knights and bishops, and is crafted by the same chess workshop that produces some of the world's finest chessmen.
Handmade in Italy, this stunning-looking briarwood and elm veneer chessboard is finished with an extra-thick coating of quality lacquer. With an amazing depth of grain, the briarwood burl has a really seductive pattern that reveals a number of different shades of colour. Rich yellows follow deep reds, follow rich red browns. The real wood veneer squares are inlaid and then bordered with an elegant strip of ebony that separates sections of the playing area from the edge. The underside of the board features a lacquered wooden veneer with felting pads to protect surfaces underneath.
To complete this luxury set, we have also added the beautiful wenge-coloured box made in Greece. This lovely cabinet will keep your Highgrove pieces protected whilst not in play. To add a sense of competition to your game, there is also this lovely Turnier clock in black. Made in Europe and based on the traditional chess clock design, this clock requires no batteries as it utilises a wind-up mechanism.
