A classic and timeless Staunton chess set featuring ebonised Highgrove pieces, a rich Italian briarwood chessboard, and a premium storage case handcrafted in Greece.

The Highgrove Series Ebonised Staunton chess pieces are supplied by the same chess workshop that produces some of the world's finest handcrafted chessmen. As such, they are very detailed and superbly finished small chessmen in the classic Staunton design with a beautifully carved knight and bishop.

The veneer squares are bordered with a thin veneer of ebony that sections off the playing area from the edge. Finished in quality lacquer, the wood grain and knotting of the briarwood look simply sublime and have a rich depth of tone and burl patterning that can never cease to impress.

When not in play, the chessmen can be kept safe and pristine in their own case. Perfectly constructed in laminated dark wenge coloured wood by the famous family-owned and run company, Manopoulos of Greece, you can be confident this chess piece case has been well made by experts in their field. The addition of brass-coloured hinges and the Manopoulos signature brass clasps keeps the lid closed.
