With a 4-inch king, these ebonised boxwood pieces are a welcome addition to this particular size range of chess pieces. Each piece starts its life as a solid piece of wood that is expertly turned and skillfully handcrafted. To create the black pieces, a set of natural boxwood goes through a treatment procedure called ebonisation. It's a long and painstaking process, but the results are certainly worth the wait to create the appearance of ebony, without its price tag, and it also further protects the wood.

The Fierce Knight chessmen are great for home and tournament use and look fantastic on the black lithograph and light maple chessboard. Produced by quality artisans, Rechapados Ferrer of Spain, they have used a high-grade veneer construction using state-of-the-art fabrication techniques, which results in the board having clean lines and critical detailing.
